1993-1998

  • Concern Cambodia piloted credit and savings activities, and then subsequently separated them from its community development work to create a direct provider of credit and savings.

 

1999

  • "National Credit and Savings Programme" is launched.
  • Concern separates the credit and savings program into an independent microcredit project.

 

2001

  • Project is renamed to "Thaneakea Ponleu Thmey" (the Bank of the New Shining Light, TPT).

 

2002

  • TPT is registered as a "Rural Credit Operator" with National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), with a specified target group of the Economically Active Poor (EAP).

 

2003

  • Angkor Mikroheranhvatho (Kampuchea) Co., Ltd. (AMK) is registered as a Limited Liability Company with the Ministry of Commerce, with an initial share capital of KHR 250 million (approximately USD 62,672).
  • Physical separation of all assets.

 

2004

  • AMK is granted an MFI license by the National Bank of Cambodia.

 

2005- 2007

  • AMK expands into 12 new provinces: Battambang, Siem Reap, Kampong Cham, Kampong Chhnang, Kampong Thom, Oddar Meanchey, Kandal, Kratie, Preah Vihear, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, and Takeo.
  • Social Performance Committee is established.

 

2010

  • AMK is granted its MDI License (Microfinance Deposit-Taking Institution License) on 29 January 2010 from the National Bank of Cambodia.

 

2011

  • Expands deposit and inter-branch money transfer throughout the country.

 

2012

  • Begins to deploy its agents to supply its customers with services such as deposits, withdrawals, and money transfers through the use of mobile phones as well.

 

2013

  • Launches Automatic Teller Machine and Cash Deposit Machine (ATM & CDM)

 

2014

  • Partners with Forte Insurance Company to launch Micro-insurance on Health and Accident to its loan clients

 

2015

  • Launches Smart Kid Savings Account

 

2016

  • Being certified for Fully Implementing Client Protection Principles by SMART CAMPAIGN
  • Launches washing loan
  • Launches “Fast Payment” Service with the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC)
  • Being recognized as the Only MFI using the most Khmer Riels by the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) and Young Enterpreneur Association of Cambodia (YEAC)

 

2018

  • AMK reached 15-year milestones and continued its strong expanded further its loan, deposit, micro-insurance business, while adding more agents for mobile-based banking business. AMK became a member of the Shanghai Commercial & Saving Bank (SCSB) family.

 

2019

  • AMK successfully migrated it new core banking and switching solution. it will allow AMK to expand and introduce new products and service to its client.

 

2020

  • AMK convert its self to digital age, by launching its Mobile Banking Application which allow user to manage their financial service on mobile phone.
  • Officially launched QR payment of its Mobile Banking App, which allow users to scan and pay with quick, easy and convenient with our merchants.
  • launched new Value Chain Financing for the business chain as well as working capital which help to solve business owner problem as Working Capital, Purchasing Raw Material or good from supplier to boosting sale volume and expanding markets and solve borrower collateral.
  • Launched international money transfer services which client can receive money from South Korea and send money to the Philippine and Vietnam.
  • AMK also has become the member of Bakong, a banking platform which is initiated by the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) that allow all customers of banks and financial institutions, are able to scan and pay easily without using physical cash.
